A Wild and Crazy Girl
Today I'm supposed to head up to Wapello for Linda's going away lunch. It will be nice to get out of the house, plus it's supposed to be over 70 degrees today, go figure! Then I had a thought...Wapello is very close to Muscatine, I might as well swing up to Crazy Girl Yarn Shop while I'm there! I'll have to double check on the miles and make sure I can get back in time to pick up the kids from school, but I think I'm going to do it! And if I stop by the At Home Store on Friday, that will be TWO LYS in one week!
Also a picture finally as things needed some enhancement around this plain ol' blog...I had an idea to knit just the band from Coronet from Knitty as an ear band as it would be much smaller and quicker than a scarf. I'm using the one odd tan/brown skein of Kool Wool. It's just so cool to see the braid forming! Plus this is my first time trying provisional cast on, and I used the crochet method from Knitting at Knoon. It was easy to get it cast on, now I'll just have to see how easy it is to get it off! This is four repeats in and how much I got done yesterday. I figure it goes a bit faster with the bulky Kool Wool compared to something worsted.

Also in other knitterly knews, I found out the library in the nearby big town had
The Yarn Girls' Guide to Knits for Older Kids! Woohoo! It is checked out until November 15, but I put a reserve in it, I'm next in line. They just built a new library and they aren't even open until Friday anyway. I hope I can even check it out, there has been an ongoing conflict with this library board and the surrounding small communities regarding the smaller towns contributing their share to the library for services in proportion with the big town people. So if the small towns didn't pay up, those residents can't check out books, and my town didn't pay. HOWEVER, I am actually rural/county, and the county HAS paid, so hopefully I'm in that category. Guess I'll find out when they call me to let me know that it is in, and I can ask them then.
