Decisions, decisions.
I received a phone call the other day from a woman I know tangentially from the ICK blog. She and a few other gals are getting together Sunday afternoon at a restaurant/bar to knit. However, another knitting friend of mine and a friend of hers had a very bad experience at said restaurant involving the owner yelling at her kids for not even doing anything. I wouldn't be bringing my kids, well except for Baby H, but it's the principle, should I frequent a place with such a bad attitude? I've heard rom other people how bad the service is and how overpriced the menu is (although I don't plan on eating anything while I'm there, at least a tea would be nice). However, the woman who called said that one of the other knitters who would be there is the girlfriend of the owner. Would that put him on his best behavior?
Also if I decide to go, what project would I bring? A brief tally of what I have going so far:
1. Pepper from the Daily Knitter in a Barbie-pink Jo-Ann's boucle for Sis M. It hsa been sitting at my bedside since I cast on.
2. One almost done faux suede bootie from DIY (AKA Baby Uggs)
3. Baby H's Debbie Bliss Bow-Tie Bolero (done but needs seamed).
4. Silver's Sock Class sock. I swear I've been working on this sock for like nearly a year and I have 4 1/2 inches of ribbing done on the FIRST sock.
5. The Reversible Winter(Anthropologie) Capelet from Peony Knits in Malabrigo, color Hollyhock for Sis M.
6. A pumpkin hat for Baby H, Red Heart Super Saver of all things, but lacking a decent LYS, it was the most pumpkiny color I could find locally.
7. The Beatrix Hat from The Garter Belt.
I won't even list the things I would like to get going as well.
I suppose the smallest and most mindless project would be the most appropriate one to take. Seaming would be impractical, so the bolero is out. I really want to get that done though. Maybe I can seam it up today so Baby H can actually wear it tomorrow...there's an idea! I'm leaning toward the capelet, but I think I am nearing the point where I divide off for the sleeves, so I'll need to measure Sis M to see how it is fitting her. Plus I want other quality LYS-deprived knitters to experinece the joy that is MMMMMMalabrigo.
Well the oldest 3/4 of the posse as left with DH to get wood, so I better get crackin' accomplishing real work so I can justify going to knit on Sunday.
